Project Description Country: USA Location: Steamboat Springs Total Budget: $1,500 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Community economic development Activity Type: Food/Agriculture: General Summary: Purchase of a merchandiser freezer for our local food bank The Don Lufkin Food Bank, named after a late member of our club, is dealing with a huge increase in clients (70% from the same 8 months of last year) and a 70% increase in expenses over the same period. The location in Steamboat Springs is in critical need of a freezer which can display frozen foods for selection by clients. The current freezer is old and has been on its last legs for a long time! Our club has been an ongoing supporter of the food bank for many years and will be conducting a food drive at our meetings in October, as well as at our local supermarket.
