Summary: Rehabilitation of sex trafficked young women in San Diego, California


San Diego has been identified by the FBI as one of the top eight cities for Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). The traffickers target young women who are homeless, runaway children or "throwaway children". The program provides them with housing, education, psychotherapy and adjunct therapies to enable them to recover and walk proudly into their future, able to care for themselves and their families. The program main adjective is to provide a high school diploma, help women continue to college, obtain employment, work through the trauma of the sex trade and obtain permanent housing. The funds will be used to buy books and education materials, extracurricular education activities, classroom and office needs, psychotherapy.

Checks will be sent to the Clubs at the addresses provided when the DDF cash is received from The Rotary Foundation. The District thanks and commends the La Mesa Sunrise and Lemon Grove Rotary Clubs for this generous project.
