DRINKING WATER
A pressing problem
Wells, which are the main source of drinking water, are constructed by the Government and are located in the valley.
As per the socio norms, the task of fetching water down under the valley to the respective huts on hillock is assigned to the women, children in the house.(Site pHOTOGRAPHS ATTACHED ) The children and Adivasi women of these villages have to walk a distance of more than 1,000 m in hilly terrain with pots of water on their head in extreme climatic conditions.
The children of the house are forced to do house work, main being fetching water instead of sending them to school and educating them.
