Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Community economic development
The "Children School of Creativity" program is aimed at helping children with ages ranging between 9 to 14 with after school activities. The students are mostly from low income broken homes living in vulnerable areas and many times attacked by organized El Salvador gangs, marginalized, without access to a good education and recreation.
To keep the students active and engaged after school, Tesak Paul Cultural Center, offers opportunities for these students with a team of professional teachers and provide educational programs to develop their creativity and skills in the many areas such as Visual Arts, creative Writing and Music. At the cultural center, students are given individual attention and guidance as needed. The facility provides activities that encourage the students to have fun developing their own ideas and sharing the same in group sessions. Following are some examples of activities that are planned.

DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.

Regret to inform all involved that the Rotary Foundation has decided NOT to fund the Children School of Creativity Global Grant (after spending 9 months of effort)because in their opinion the program does not sufficiently support conflict resolution and peace building. Thank you all for your trust and support pledges.

The TRF declined to fund this project because in their opinion, the program did not suffiently address conflict resolution and peace building. We tried our best after spending so many voluntry hours to convince TRF otherwise with no avail. I personally thank all the rotary clubs who believed in us and provided the needed pledge support. The project is now cancelled.
