Project Description Country: USA Location: Fort Collins, CO Total Budget: $2,000 Area of Focus: None Activity Type: Community Development: Volunteer Services Summary: Provide underwear for Homeless in Fort Collins, Colorado Homeward Alliance in Fort Collins, Colorado provides services to the homeless. They are in need of underwear for their clients (men, women and children). We will purchase the underwear in bulk and then members will repackage into packages of two. Members will also support project through social media. We became aware of this need when a member reported that while helping with the Homeward Alliance Mobile Laundry she noticed that the clients had little, or no, underwear. Our members are very committed to supporting the homeless and community members struggling financially, with essentials. We have worked at our Food Bank and Pop Up Pantries delivering food, collected shelf stable foods for the Food Bank, provided winter wear (with the help of a district grant), and collected and packaged toiletries for HA to deliver to clients. Now that we are meeting in person again, we are having box lunches. Everything that is remaining is delivered to Homeward Alliance. We believe, that while underwear may not be considered essential, it is very important for,the dignity of an individual.
