SAFE DRINKING WATER TREATMENT PLANT FOR THE INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY OF SAN SEBASTIAN DE LOS LAGOS, LETICIA, AMAZONAS, COLOMBIA.

Supply SAFE DRINKING WATER to promote the competitiveness, welfare and health of the rural indigenous community of San Sebastián de Los Lagos in the municipality of Leticia, Department of Amazonas, through updating, repowering, acquisition of equipment and adaptation of current facilities, benefiting 1,200 indigenous inhabitants of the área.

The demand for drinking water consumption generates serious health problems in the population.

1.2.1 - Increase in the prevalence of gastrointestinal diseases in the entire adult and child population.

1.2.2 - Low level of education in children due to high level of absenteeism from school due to illnesses resulting from not having drinking water.

1.2.3 - In general, the population is a vulnerable indigenous community that is dedicated to agriculture in small food gardens and fishing, activities that are affected by gastrointestinal diseases, affecting the family economy and increasing poverty in the population.

The project consists of the construction of a drinking water treatment plant with a capacity of 3 liters per second, taking advantage of the current facilities, a 3 liters per second submersible well pump, a 3 liters per second circulation and transfer pump will be installed. second, a primary filtration, deaeration, fine filtration, meter, storage, chlorination and distribution system, contemplates the adaptation of two elevated reinforced concrete storage tanks for treated water with a capacity of 8 and 12 m3 for the central area and the supply and installation of three elevated plastic treated water storage tanks of 2 m3 each supported on a reinforced concrete plate for the distant area. In addition, The installation of a solar plant is required to supply energy to the entire electrical system to provide continuity of energy service and reliability to the PTAP for its operation.

All members of the Rotary Club Amazonas will be involved in the Project and the duration of its implementation, installation, assembly and start-up is 10 months.
