Good Sheppard Dispensary is a Primary Health Care Center and outpatient clinic with very basic and limited diagnostic, indoor and outdoor facilities. The Rotary Club of Orchid City, Shillong (about 30 km distant) is coordinating in-village improvements and hospital/medical connections. The project is to increase service quality, capacity, and sustainability so the clinic can serve Mother and Child health care, general medical center, and basic health education for ten more nearby villages with about 20,000 people. Photos and more project details available. Project will continue into 2015-2016 year as needed.

Project elements include:

Renovate the present building

Procure ambulance

Procure indoor diagnostic equipment - X-Ray, ECG, computer with diagnostics, etc.

Improve outdoor diagnostic and first aid equipment - Blood pressure, weight, temperature, blood glucose

Improve indoor facilities - patient beds, oxygen cylinder, nebulizer, sterilizer, labor room with delivery bed, baby cot, obstetrics instruments

Basic equipment for health education delivery

Budget Allowances - $35,000 total

G-949 was submitted to TRF and became Global Grant # GG1533178. TRF staff did not allow inclusion of ambulance. In the past weeks the project sponsors, supporters and advisers developed a reclama to TRF with rationale for the original project. Members of our Idaho team will visit the clinic site in November. We hope that this project will go forward because it is needed by residents in the Jongksha Village area.

Members of Pocatello Centennial Rotary Club and The Rotary Club of Orchid City, Shillong visited Jongksha village in November, 2015. A reclama was submitted with additional information and annotated photographs. GG1533178 application is updated and in a submitted status under review by TRF staff as of February 1, 2016.
