Project Description Country: USA Location: Orange Total Budget: $14,000 Area of Focus: Economic and community development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: Orange High will receive similar benches from last year on the other side of the school along with Palmyra Elementary will receive similar benches, new paint and plants in from of school along with some updates within the Kindergarden play area. Orange High has a need for benches in front of school. Palmyra Elementary has a lot of need for improvements. Funds will be used for Benches, Paint, Planters, Plants, child size picnic tables. Club members will participate by painiting, planting, power washing areas and cleanup of campus. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) After much deliberation, we have decided to add a Kindergarten playground area as they currently have no place for the young children to play as you can see in the attached pictures. The Orange Rotary Community Trust will donate much of the funds needed to complete this. We will also have the teachers and PTA of the elementary participate in the project as well. The total project cost will increase due to this addition from Original $14,000 to approximately $31,637.2. We will also replace 3900sf of SOD with the help of the PTA. Rest of work will be completed either that day or within a couple of weeks after. 17-Mar-16 by Ankit Shah Project date at Palmyra set for April 23, 2016. 23-Mar-16 by Ankit Shah Met with Principal Godsey at Palmyra and she mentioned that the PTA will donate the funds to replace the dead/decimated grass area, approximately 3900sf and that work can be done of 4/23 as well. Through an acquaintance, we were able to lower the cost of SOD from $1/psf to .32c/psf. The district will fix the sprinklers in the area. Also called a local landscaping company to help with drought tolerant plants.
