Support for Fairway School

$12,100

Fairway Childcare/Orphanage School was started in 2001 to cater to needy and orphaned(mostly from AIDS) children. Currently there are 310 boarders and 307 day students. The school is in need of many things, but perhaps the most important is a bore hole well that provides a reliable source of clean and uncontaminated water. They are also greatly in need teaching aids, the most important of which is books for all grades.

The drilling of the well took place the last week of February '09. Water was found at a depth of 194 feet, and the well is producing water at a rate of approximately 1,100 liters per hour. The balance of the funds in the Grant, estimated at $1,500, will be spent on badly needed text books. A dedication ceremony is being planned.
