Nanziga Orphanage Project

Bbunga NANZIGA community has only one source of water. This source serves population of of 2230 people.

Of this population, 1250 are school children who are shared among 3 primary schools and one secondary school.

The source of is a swampy stagnant pool of dirty water which is not safe for drinking and domestic use.

Besides, it is a long distance from the schools.

We plan to construct a protected well, with a motor engine and pump for pumping the water to a storage tunk of 10000 litres.

Total Budget is USD 15000.

This project is completed. Project listed for the 2006-07 Rotary Year.

The Matching Grant application number from TRF is #61434.

The TRF Staff in charge of this grant is Mary Howard (Mary.Howard@rotary.org).

Following our GSE visit to Shadowridge Rotary Club, I presented the need for safe water and sanitation in our District, particularly in Uganda.

The members promised to discuss more about possible partnership in providing safe water to one of the needy areas.
