   Uganda - Hoima

Hoima Women Microcredit

$25,650

This project is a project of Mobilizing Rotary for Microcredit

There is still a problem of polygamy in Uganda. On the advent of HIV/AIDS, many women were left as widows, which made them responsible for looking after the home.

With limited or no incomes at all, it has been difficult for many women to carry out this responsiblity. Eventually, this leads to the common vicious circle of poverty.

The Rotary Club of Kampala D9200 would like to initiate a project where these women can be helped to break out of this circle.

We are therefore looking at the possiblity of Micro Credit Financing.

There wasn't much discussed and agreed, but we were happy to talk to Rtn Jean Jacques Foucherot who kindly agreed to follow it up further.
