Uganda Pigs

This project is a project of Serving Hands International

This project is to purchase and raise 5 male and 20 female pigs. It also includes the expenses to house and raise these pigs so they can produce 100 piglets. Of these 125 pigs 80 are donated to poor families and 45 are sold to generate income for the project to continue to the next level.

Approximately 560 poor familes will receive a pig over the first 3 years.

Mary Howard from TRF wrote that the following needs elaboration:
Rotarian Involvement: Gospel Tabernacle coordinating most aspects. Describe how Rotarians will be directly involved.
Beneficiaries: Describe how the 80 families will be chosen.
Project Description: Describe the project in more detail, identifying the vendor the pigs will be purchased from, who will own and raise the first 25 pigs (that will produce the piglets), who will buy the pigs sold to generate an income, and how the income will be used to sustain the project.
Cooperating Organization:Gospel Tabernacle seems to be a cooperating organization. Need Cooperating Organization Letter and Host Partner Authorization of cooperating Organization.

Mary Howard wrote that this project could not be approved in the 06-07 Rotary Year as the application was not complete. All items needed to complete application must be submitted to TRF by 31 October 2007, otherwise it will be considered withdrawn. Need Cooperating Organization Letter from Lasting Impact Ministries stating that it agrees to cooperate in any financial review of activities connected to the project and outlining its responsibilities for the project.

Patti Garcia forwarded to Mary Howard a Cooperating Organization Letter from Lasting Impact Ministries. Also, a report from RC Port Bell was faxed to the Rotary Foundation on September 22.
